Standard rules
:[ Main Goal ]:
Our main goal is to provide an inclusive, interactive, and friendly roleplay environment - in Second Life, as well as in the forums. With that being said, we ask that you follow the rules we've set in place.
:[ Admin Promise ]:
All admins and staff are held to the same rules that we hold our players to. If a rule is broken by an admin, we will handle the situation in the same manner we would a player.
All admins have been hand selected for their positive attitudes, commitment to the sim and its story, as well as their drive to make it all the better.
While our rules may change at any time, we will warn our players of upcoming rules to the best of our ability.
*All rules are listed for both forum and sim, unless otherwise stated.
1) No Meta-gaming, Power-gaming, God-modding
Metagaming is when you apply OOC knowledge that your character hasn’t come across yet, such as a name, or place they haven’t explored.
Powergaming is when your character takes little to no damage, or kills things too easily.
Godmodding is controlling someone else’s character. No one but you knows how your character will react to something - the same goes for others.
2_) Supernaturals :[Link to <races>]:
If you wish to play a supernatural, or otherwise inhuman character, you must submit your powers with the admins
Your character, if turned or otherwise born an inhuman race, cannot switch to another supernatural race.
Supernatural and inhuman races include, but are not limited to, any race that has powers or longevity outside of the normal human specifications.
4_) Inactive Status
If you are not on sim for a month, you will be considered inactive. Admins will do their best to contact you after two - three weeks. If you do not respond by the final week, you will be considered inactive.
Once inactive, you will have to reapply, as your application will be voided.
5_) Rental Refunds (Sim-only)
If you decide to leave halfway through your rental, or you are banned for any reason your rental will not be refunded. If we come to an agreement where we ask you to leave, your rental will be refunded for the time remaining.
We will not return your items until your rental is up. You will get a warning at 3 days remaining, 2 days, as well as the last day. If you do not show up after these warnings, your items will be returned to you so we may free up prims for the next renter.
6_) Donations
Donations are not required, by players or admins. We understand not everyone has the spare change to load into Second Life.
If you do decide to donate, it is just that - a donation. You have contributed to the sim’s tier, and we thank you for it! But know that we cannot return it, as it will go directly into paying for the sim.
We do not promote players based upon how much money they put into the tier. We promote players based upon their positive attitudes, commitment to the sim & its story, and their drive to make it better.
7_) Logs
We ask that you keep logs of your roleplays (or make sure someone from that RP session has kept a log). If we ever have an issue, we will ask to see the log to which you are referring, as evidence. If you have no log, we cannot do anything about it.
8_) Consent
In order to perform one of the following actions, you must have documented consent from any and all parties involved. There will be in-character consequences for these actions.
Rape
Murder
Capture
Torture
Thievery
Capital Crimes
9_) Escorting
We do not allow escorting for Linden dollars; We do, however, allow escorting for roleplay currency.
10_) Disturbing others in RP
Do not barge in on roleplays, ask the players in IMs if you’re welcome to join. If you are welcome to join, do not phase / magic / teleport in without consent of the person)s) you intend to play with.
11_) Teleportation
No phasing or teleporting abilities. If there are teleporters set on sim, you may use those.
12_) Chat
No constant shouting or gestures anywhere on sim, including the welcome center. It will be considered spam.
Voice has been disabled on sim. You are welcome to join us in Discord (ask a player, mentor, or admin for more info)
Know the difference between IC and OOC. Most players here use a chatter / titler for IC information readily known.
Outside of the welcome center, all OOC chat must be within ((parenthesis))
Racism, sexism, and otherwise discriminatory views will not be tolerated.
13_) Discord
Discord is a free website, or desktop app, that we use for OOC voice and chatting.
The rules concerning child avatars do not carry over to discord. However, if we hear any talk that may lead us to believe you are a predator of any sort, you will be banned.
We will not allow babytalk into Discord. Allow me to repeat: Discord is strictly OOC.
Discord is a place where all players and staff may relax and get to know each other. I will not ask staff to censor themselves.
14_) Griefing
Coming here with the intent of being confrontational or disruptive will result in a ban.
This includes, but is not limited to :
Engaging in any activity or rezzing any object that either substantially harms the performance / threatens to crash the SIM
Interfering with the ability of the players to enjoy their roleplay
Harassing players or staff
Cagers
15_) Script limits
There is a board in the welcome center. If you are showing up as red on that board, you are in breach of our script render weight limits.
16_) Loopholes
Rules are at the discretion of the admins to interpret, and they reserve the right to modify the interpretation at any time.
17_) Consequences
Any violation of the above rules will result in up to, and including, banishment
These consequences may vary by situation, and the admins reserve the right to judge the severity of said situation.
Generally, the procedure would go as follows:
1st Violation: verbal warning from one of the admins. To be documented.
2nd Violation: counseling session with at least 2 admins. Include evidence, chance for rebuttal. To be documented.
3rd Violation: meeting with at least 3 admins. Include evidence and defense. To be documented. If found guilty, the offender(s) may be banned.
18_) CHILD AVATARS
Child avatars are not allowed. No exceptions.
Thank you for your interest and cooperation.

Stuff you must know!
Admins do not actively involve themselves in rp conflict between players. If you don't get your way in a rp fight, work it out with your rp partner or find someone else to rp with and/or void the rp. This goes for a person doing something in rp that you do not like.
If there are legitimate complaints or another player is oocly harassing you, then you may contact staff.

Combat rules
There may be situations where you may find yourself at direct odds with another character, with violent results. This can create touchy situations and heated arguments, so it is necessary for some sort of order. A few different ways that combat may be progressed are found in this section, each with their own rules, as well as rules of etiquette that encompass all of them.
Here in Drannor we have two options available for combat, as follows:
Dice:
For those more comfortable with meterless/free form RP, but wishing for more structure, dice combat is an available option. The rules for such are delineated below, and a guide may be found on the website, but when in doubt settle it through consensus, or ask an admin.
- Dice rollers are to be agreed upon before combat, i.e. D100, D20, 2D10 etc.
- One attack per post, with an immediate defense roll, and a response by the other player at the beginning of their post. For example :
-----------------
Joe is furious at Sarah after hearing rumors that she was sleeping with his friend Billy. Joe is a horrible person and raises his hand towards Sarah, attempting to strike her.
Joe rolls an 11.
Sarah rolls a 74.
Sarah does a matrix bend and a double back flip, easily dodging the pathetic attempt at lady beating. She pulls her twin .50 cal Desert Eagles, firing, attempting to hit Joe.
----------------
- Charging normal attacks deal more damage.
- Area of Effect attacks (AOE, or attacks attempting to strike more than one person) and magic must be charged, with a chance for interrupt.
- - AOE melee attacks must be charged for 1 round, and may hit up to 6 people, either targeted by attacker, or the first rolls failed by post order.
- - Magic spells must be charged for rounds equal to the spell strength.
- - - Magic AOE attacks must be charged for rounds equal to spell strength + 1.
- - - - Non attacking/damaging cantrips are allowed.
Consented Free Form Roleplay :
The most common form of combat, you and your partner(s) simply RP the combat to its conclusion. It requires a good amount of trust and good faith, as well as communication. Keeping in constant contact with your partner, IMing, and planning the combat hits as you go is recommended.
- You are allowed one free dodge before you MUST take a hit, regardless of the attack or your character's defenses and vulnerability.
- If you're attacked with something that wouldn't normally hurt your character and it's your turn to take the hit, you still must take damage, somehow.
- Any arguments arising from this form of combat will not be addressed by admins, and short of abandoning the RP, you must switch to one of the other two combat forms.
- Encompassing Rules and Etiquette -
- You are allowed to run before the beginning of combat, but the attacker may bring it up with admins or faction leaders, with possible consequences at their discretion.
- - You are allowed to run during combat, with the option for interrupt from the attacker.
- - The attacker may not attack the character after fleeing, nor may the fleeing character reengage in combat.
- With the exception of Spellfire 3 and explicitly agreed upon, approved, and documented free form RP for story reasons, every character enters combat with 3 HP.
- - Uncharged attacks, no matter how seemingly powerful, damage a maximum of 1 HP.
- - - Charged attacks damage HP equal to the rounds charged.
- - Without healing, your HP restores at 1 HP per hour, outside of combat only.
- Healing by any means restores 1 HP per round, for no more than 3.
- - Healing by magical means or otherwise is subject to interrupt.
- - You are not allowed to heal yourself for HP gain, although it is allowed for character development, i.e. you can sew up your own wounds, spread poultices, and cast heal light wounds on yourself all day, you must still wait the alloted time to regain HP.
- After HP is depleted the default state is being knocked out, either physically or being forced to flee combat.
- - Capture is allowed, but must be consented to.
- Permadeath and maiming a character is allowed, but also must be consented to.
- If you do die however, you may only be resurrected by characters with admin approval, such as divine or divinely gifted characters, as well as necessary IC reasons.
- - There will be IC consequences for the resurrection, such as a new body, or the permanent loss of memory.
